Yesterday's Minimeet, our fourth in Leeds, went rather well as we retired to the German Bierkeller, a venue perfectly suited to mass gatherings of this kind. The long benches are very communal, the beer excellent and there are no shrieking harrendons on hen parties. Indeed the soundtrack was German music and indie - most pleasant - while the traditional Bavarian (and Eastern European) food was gorgeous. Hot pretzels and mustard, Bratwurst, Currywurst. Fantastic!

I do love the Leeds furs as they are more my type of people. There is a maturity here which sometimes seems lacking in other cities. This suits me down to the ground, I rarely get the sense of being isolated such is the varied topic of conversation and I'll admit I find things like fursuiting outside of conventions and specific charity events a little embarrassing when just out and about.

Friday night was a nice prelude to the Minimeet as we went to the Saltaire Beer Festival, which was in the heart of the Saltaire Brewery. Five pound entry, a free pint and some more delicious food, it was the perfect way to start the weekend. Sadly I didn't get there until late due to an annoying Norwegian situation at work, missing five hours of the six hour festival but at least I caught the end of it. Luna was quite drunk XD

Afterwards, we headed into Bradford to the Gasworks, our usual rock night, but it was closed and we were directed to The Empire where a lesbian goth band were playing. It was all noise to me but they were always in the groove. Also, insulting your audience is generally not a good way to increase popularity. Later on it was just a music night with some killer tunes but sadly no dance floor, which was a shame. I also got a free tie courtesy of Arcais who said she found it on the floor.

Feeling nommish, we went to McDonald's at the end of the evening, where we had to pretend to be a car as only the drive through was open. Wolfie sat in some oil because he is silly. I got a Happy Meal with not one but two Spongebob Squarepants toys as I'm on a diet. It wasn't substantial enough though so I got a doughnut too. We also entertained the staff at McDonald's with our unique humour. Happy days ^^

It was my first outing to the Bierkeller, as every other time I'd tried to go in it was rammed - I love the place though. :) The beer isn't cheap which is a shame but I love the overall atmosphere and the layout, and those pretzels mit mustard were amazing!

Looking forward to next month's meet. :3

I love the Bierkeller - it is a little expensive but you pay for quality I guess. I think it may be a regular haunt for us because it's so good and yep, the food is amazing. Glad you enjoyed ^^
