More Of That Jelly Stuff

The weekend saw the visit of Shep Shepherd where we imbibed in two curries and travelled to York for the fourth annual furry tea shoppe crawl. Lots of tea was drunk but the trains and tea shoppes were rammed due to it being Race Day. Consequently, having tried to get into every known tea shoppe, we had to abandon our crawl after three establishments, by which time we were already tea'd out anyway. I also had a pure meat pork pie from a local butchers, a bargain for 75p. It just needed more of that jelly stuff.

All the bars were packed too but we did find a small anonymous bar called Vahe Bar, which was run by an interesting Armenian with whom I spent a great deal of time conversing. The beer was excellent and small portions of nuts for 20p were a nice touch.

We headed to Pizza Hut next, a rarity for us as there's not one in Leeds City Centre any more. Our server was mental but great fun, we thought she was Arcais's sister but alas not, and it was great sampling the unique taste of Pizza Hut once more (after about two years I'd say).

On the way home, we were again surrounded by drunk racegoers, including one guy who was so drunk, everyone took the piss out of him and he was totally oblivious. He called himself the 'Egginator' as he allegedly smuggles eggs into football matches and then throws them. A Barnsley chappie who we helped find the right platform ribbed him mercilessly for his idiocy.

After work on Sunday, and with my neck in chronic pain due to a pulled muscle while sleeping, we headed down to Wakefield to see Avon and Skavi and go to Raj Poot. After Friday's curry disagreed with me, I was wary about another one and these fears were founded as I spent most of Monday with chronic stomach pain. Still, the curry and company was most excellent and a nice weekend was had.

This is interesting. Is it possible you are developing an intolerance to one or more of the spices used in curries?

Two years since your last Pizza Hut! Wow! I’ve only gone…come to think of it I can’t remember the last time I had Pizza Hut. Probably more than two years =P

Yep, there is not a Pizza Hut in the centre of our city so we rarely go. Plus we tend to prefer other foods anyway.
