Newcastle Meet, Sunday 2 March, Noon

As you may be aware, Blue, Urban and I are trying to ressurect the Newcastle meets. We have had reasonable success in the two meets we have arranged so far so we have decided to run a regular north-east meet. These will take place on the first Sunday of every month and will start at 12 noon.

In the future, we are hoping to take the meets on a tour around the north-east, meeting in Newcastle, Durham and Middlesbrough on a three month rotation. That is something for further down the line though and the next two meets (March 2 and April 6) will be in Newcastle.

It would be great to see you down there and if anyone has any ideas in how to shape the meets then please let us know. Equally if anyone knows any furs (particularly newbees) in the north-east or Yorkshire who would be interested in attending then please pass on my details to them.

This Sunday, the Meet will gather at Newcastle Central station at noon. Due to work commitments I won't be able to make it until slightly later in the afternoon but Blue and Urban will be there and I'm sure they'll look after you. I look forward to seeing you there :-)

Meets are best done with trips to the park in the Summer, and pubs in the colder months. It's best not to organise too much, and just allow people to do their own thing. Fragmentation will happen, and should not be resisted. Everyone is different. Newcastle has one advantage in it's Metro system. Encourage everyone to get a day ticket. If you have to travel to another part of town, it's easy, convienient, and unlike buses easy for non-locals to understand.

Thanks, I might try the Metro idea. There had been talk of having a separate South Shields meet but because it's on the Metro I prefer the central nature of Newcastle and then we can go out there.

I agree about not having fur agreement, that seems harder to come to then the Koyto protocol. I'd like to have a vague plan going though as often furs won't come unless we have an idea of what we are doing.

I agree about pubs but the problem is I drink in them and then I make an arse of myself. Poor lupe :(

Unfortunately I won't be coming, money is tight and I'm already going to the LF meet on the 10th. But I think can do April the 6th, and I'll see if I can drag along my friend who lives up there. He's a good sport and would probably be up for some fun, even though he's not a fur...as far as I know. ^^

Awww :( but :) for the LF meet on the 8th (unless there is one on the Monday). I'll be at that one too and I think Wolfie and Patter will be there too. It promises to be a London extravaganza and I may have my polar bear suit then! Yeys!

Cool about April 6 and I'm looking forward to corrupting, sorry meeting your friend ;)
