Andy Parsons - I've Got A Shed

We're seeing an awful lot of comedy at the moment, largely because the post Edinburgh Fringe tours are happening. Furthermore, it's Harrogate Comedy Festival fortnight so many are in the local area playing that. Last night, we saw the imperious Andy Parsons at "one of the best theaters between an M&S, Argos and Primark in the country".
I've liked Parsons ever since seeing him on the Paramount Comedy Show in 1997. This is the third time I had seen him live and he was scintillating for a full hour and 45 minutes. He was also recording his new DVD in harrogate - both last night and tonight - so he brought out his top material and carried the audience through the evening. His skit on banking was a particular delight, nim nim. Like I mentioned last week, irate comics tend to carry their audiences better as their voices fill the room. And as harrogate theatre is such a small quaint one, Parsons achieved this with ease.
We should have brought the fursuits as they were filming Vox pops at the end for the DVD but sadly we couldn't see where they were doing this and opted to go to the pub instead. This pub had good ale and a range of snacks, including Dragon's Testicles, crunchy veined nutty things in a crispy shell which were quite varied for testicles. All proceeds went to Martin House.
We went with Panthras, who is living and working on Harrogate right now so hopefully we will get to see more comedy with him. He is living in a lovely old house right near the centre, on one of the main roads. I was late into work yesterday due to the buses and gas mains work in the centre of Leeds so we didn't get much time before the gig to chill. He did take us to Graveleys though, a delightful fish and chip restaurant with some of the freshest fish and crispest chips I've ever had. Considering harrogate is only 40 minutes' drive from where we live - and less from my work - I think we will be visiting far more often.

I'm not familiar with the name, I admit, but that's hardly surprising, given the TV's only ever on broadcast reception for Doctor Who. =:)
