Always The Puppy Things
Feb. 12th, 2015 10:21 amIn relationships it's often the little things which make the difference and this has certainly been the case over the last few months.
It's a simple thing but since Wolfie moved his Warhammer stuff from the garage into the living room (which happened in mid-December just after I got back from Mexico), our relationship has become significantly stronger. I'm not into Warhammer myself but now he paints his models while sat next to me as I watch TV or study my Japanese. Often we don't say anything but just being around each other more has had a significant effect and has also enhanced our general feeling of well being. Certainly over the last fortnight I have felt overwhelmingly positive and this new arrangement has had other knock-on effects, not least boosting our sex life and the D/s part of our relationship. This has made me feel more comfortable about talking about sex on my AD account and while I'm sure part of the reason Wolfie moved inside was to depart from the coldness of the garage, the knock-on effect is that we can more easily talk to each other and share a beer when we like.
The only blot on the landscape recently was last night's Japanese listening test, which was exceptionally hard despite me putting a lot of work into it. Fortunately everyone else found it equally difficult and I think I have just done enough to pass. My conscience is clear though, I did everything I could under the circumstances and although I perhaps should have learnt sentences more than vocabulary, I gave it my best shot. With only about eight classes left, I'm unsure whether I'll do Japanese next year - some classes I really love and others I really don't - but I've got a while to make that decision. I guess part of it will depend on whether the second year will be offered in the city centre as the main campus is out of town and difficult to get to after work. Time will tell I guess.

Date: 2015-02-14 05:33 pm (UTC)Reminds me, I need to resume progressing through Human Japanese, a very nicely written introduction to the language, on iOS (maybe amongst others). It's not really an expense I need, but I think if I reach the end of the introductory eight chapters, I'll likely buy the bundle of the full version (42 chapters or so, I believe) and its intermediary sequel - £16.49 together, or £10.99 each. It's not as if I'm short of avenues for usefully employing my time, but I'd very much like to get at least a basic footing in the language. ("A basic footing in the tongue", I felt, sounded oddly violent =:)
Aha! Indeed, Human Japanese is available for OS X, iOS, Android, iOS, Windows, and Windows Phone.
