Saturday Is Meet Day

It was a very good meet on Saturday, although it didn't start too well as I wanted to go and get some Polish zloty ahead of my trip to Gdansk next month. I spent ten minutes in a queue behind a doddery old couple only to discover that they had ran out of currency and I needed to go back another time. This was quite frustrating but I soon got into the swing of things at the meet, which was quite well attended considering February is often quiet. It was good seeing a number of people who don't usually come such as Cub and Danza, Ki Saro and Funky, and even our friend Koltas made an appearance as he was visiting his girlfriend. We spent a fair bit of time with him in the end, ending up in Shuffledog with Adam and Nacht too, where we partook in minty snuff which tingled my nostrils horrendously. We had a fair amount of beer by this point and needed to head off at around 10pm, with the number 4 not turning up (and with Wolfie thinking the 444 was a bus to Pudsey for some reason even though it's the Arriva service to Wakefield). Frustrated, we ended up having to get a taxi much to my annoyance but it was a small additional cost in what had been a rather good day. Indeed, at 36 we had the biggest fursuit walk we had ever had, while the atmsophere was good, although I am a little concerned with the number of young children who are turning up these days, even though they are here with their parents. We also got a fair number of fursuiters posing with the EU flag, which Cosmo had asked me to bring. It was quite a heartwarming sight in all honesty.
Sunday was quite a quiet day, having arranged with Taneli to do a couple of geocaches as I was expecting the weather to be far better than it was. Saturday was gorgeous but Sunday was quite windy, not a great time to be on the moors above Bingley looking for caches. We thought we might as well take advantage of Taneli having his car to do a few more out of the way ones, but yomping over heather and bumpy ground to get caches wasn't particularly fun, largely as the ground was also quite boggy. Still, we got a number of caches before driving to a few in Baildon and Shipley, ending the day near the canal in the McDonald's having a bacon double cheeseburger with soggy bacon. It was a good few hours though with us picking up six caches before Taneli drove me back home. He stayed for a tea and I offered him a coissant that we hitherto didn't have, before he headed back home at about 7pm. Meanwhile, I had started to feel cold and shivery, with this fever continuing into today. My core temperature oscillated between cold and hot in bed last night and I struggled to last at work today, struggling to stand and even walking into a car wing mirror at one point. I went into the office as there was a meeting today which I couldn't really miss, but if this persists until tomorrow I may just call in sick. My head is thumping and I am achy everywhere, so I am not sure what it is, but it's pretty horrendous.
