I've just bought tickets to go and see Dylan Moran (of Black Books fame) and Andy Parsons (of Mock The Week fame) live in concert at Middlesbrough Town Hall in February.

I'm massively excited. I saw Moran in Cambridge in 2004 and he was one of the best comedians I have ever seen (even if he did slag off my home town).

Meanwhile, Parsons is a comedian I have wanted to see ever since he broke on to the circuit in the mid-90s.

I used to go and watch most of the famous stand-ups but like with music, I have become a little apathetic of late. Hopefully, this will kick start it again. There's nothing like a live performance :-)

Which comedians have you seen and which ones would you like to see?

ADDENDUM:
I have decided to see Ed Bryne at the same venue too. This means I will be seeing three comedy shows in the space of a week. Should be quite a fun week. Well, you need to laugh in February. It keeps you sane :-)

It's selling out quickly where I am and Glasgow may be worse. My brother recommends him (he saw him in London late last year) and if his 2004 show is anything to go by, I would say definitely get the tickets. Mine were only £19 so it's not too expensive either. Of course, I will probably review the gig on my LJ :)

Shame he's not doing Aberdeen hun - that's a bit annoying. I'm sure you can catch him some time though :)

Checking Chortle, there are quite a few. I notice that between now and the end of March you have The Mighty Boosh, Al Murray, Ross Noble (go see - excellent comedian), Rob Brydon and Ed Bryne (on the night before he plays here). Not too bad a selection.

Shame about Dylan though, although looking at his tour dates, it seems lucky that he is playing my home town.

I'd check the dates and see if they tie in regarding the Glasgow Comedy Festival. Certainly that is not the case for Ed Bryne as he is in the middle of a nationwide tour then. I am seeing him in Middlesbrough on Feb 25 - you should get tickets for the Aberdeen show.

TMB is okay but wouldn't really want to see live. Al Murray isn't my thing and Rob Brydon I can take or leave. He may be good but I probably wouldn't go and see him myself.
