Sheesh! Never ask furries to tell you what to write on your LJ - you just get filth!! Anyway, by popular demand, you want me to write about rubber. Of course, I don't need to tell you that this may involve adult concepts.

I have been interested in rubber for about 10 years, since I first saw those really bad BDSM documentaries late at night on Channel Five (or FIVE as it's now called). I liked the look and I liked the anonymity that the material provided. It tapped into my submissive nature and I liked the idea of being an anonymous slave. To start off with, it certainly wasn't about the texture or the feel of the material but having worn a full rubber suit for the first time on 28 December, I can tell you that the experience is like floating. In fact, it has a similar effect on the body that transcendental meditation does, but it doesn't have the same mental effect.

Rubber suits come in different thicknesses. I bought mine from Cocoon in Digbeth, Birmingham but sadly the company may be relocating to Belgium, home of excellent roadside sandwiches. I could have bought my suit in four different thickness - .15, .25, .35 and .50. Of course, the thicker the rubber, the less stretchy it is. I liked the stretchy element as it's more hugging, it's lighter to wear and it also allows you to put on or lose a bit of weight without it really affecting anything. The really light stuff does rip easily and although it can be fixed, it needs to be sent back to the manufacturer for this and that was going to be a lot of hassle.

The suit I got was bespoke. I felt that it might as well fit properly if I was spending the amount of money that I was on it. It also enabled me to pinkify it and so mine is possibly the only rubber suit in the world with a pink stripe down the back. I am also thinking of adding other bits and pieces to it to make it look more like Lupestripe.

I may be going to The Torture Garden in February, where I will wear it. However, I fear that seven hours in suit could get quite hot. I was in it for an hour and it was bearable - but the sweat was only just starting to form. I fear seven could be a little too dehydrating. To that level though, one of the reasons I got an enclosed suit and not one with separate feet is because it allows the sweat to drip down and remain in the suit rather than all over the floor. The talcum powder that you need to put the suit on (which took me about half an hour) also absorbs some of the sweat whilst you are wearing it.

There are pics in existence, but only five. As the rubber was not made shiny, I am not going to post them online but if you could send me your email address (by PM - I am NOT screening comments to this post) then I'll send them to you. If you have rubber pics (or indeed any yiffy pics) that you could send me in return then all the better :-)

I hope this answers all your questions - if not, feel free to comment and I'll see what I can do :-)

*noddles* To each their own... I just found that personally, I don't like the way that rubber feels.

It definitely is an acquired taste, that's certainly true.

Or the opposite, in my case.
