Intimidation

My German tutor made a very interesting point about me today - she said that the first time I met her, I was "intimidating" but she soon got used to me. She said I hadn't deliberately been intimidating, it was just the way I am. I wonder how many other people find me intimidating and whether this is the reason why I feel I don't fit in anywhere.

It might just be a bad choice of words there; its hard to read from this how she meant it. I'd never have said you were intimidating, as I'd read that to be someone to be scared of. However if people catch you the first time when you've been drinking a lot or are lacking in sleep, then your mad excitability can possibly surprise people. I think though once anyone has gotten used to your humour and bounciness first they realise its harmless. =:P

I may have had a lack of sleep, the first time we met, I can't remember. It certainly wasn't alcohol related as I met her straight after work. I do get the impression a lot of people don't understand my humour - I am getting this sense at work particularly right now.
