lupestripeWhat an album the new Muse one is! At first wasn't convinced with the disco style but it is so cohesive. The opening three tracks are so powerful and built up with energy, it's good to hear they've made a fourth classic. Best British band around today, full of ideas and are so tight now! Am well excited.
France v Italy in the World Cup Final. It's gonna be a good one, despite my team Germany being knocked out. *sniff*. England got knocked out too and I must admit I admire Rooney's restraint on that cheating bastard Ronaldo - I would have decked him but Rooney didn't. His sending off was well harsh, I didn't think he went in for the tackle (Carvalho's, not the ball) but when the deceitful Ronaldo got involved, trying to make the ref give Rooney red Rooney pushed him to tell him to back off. And he got a red for that. Still good to see the Portuguese, who dived their way to a 1-0 defeat to France last night got knocked out. They deserve it. Like they deserve being banned from the next World Cup for their disgraceful behaviour.
Was singing England songs in the pub with some mates and in the end had to be consoled by a Frenchman (who I randomly tried speaking schoolboy French to, before realising I couldn't remember any of it *embarrassed wolfie*). Still don't think we deserved to win, we were poor and we had no confidence in taking penalties. I mean Lampard taking the crucial first one after not being able to score in 15 previous goalscoring attempts didn't bode well and once he had missed all hope was gone.
Sven's now gone with his £25million. Let's hope SMc can do better. I somehow doubt it.

Date: 2006-07-06 06:32 pm (UTC)Like you I had my reservations when i first heard the 'new' sound. But it grew on me, I cant wait to see them preform these songs live at the festivals this year (even if my version of live is on the telly lol) they have always been a great band live.
I'm really glad Portugal are out. The Itally v Germany match shocked me I thought for sure that the Germans would win but I'm glad Italy won. Apart from when they cheated like bastards to win against Australia. They've been one of my favourite teams throughout the tournament. (and not just because i like their hair :D). I really hope they win the cup.

More glad the French got through against the Portuguese, their play last night was shocking, cheating and diving everywhere. They were a disgrace to their country. As for the Final, well, I have Italy in my little bet with the duck and she has France. So FORZA ITALIA it is!!

Italians do cheat but not half as badly (not to mention shamelessly) as the Portuguese. I dont mind when they do as long as it's not against Englamd or Australia.
The Portuguese were really shocking the other night. It was pathetic!
When i heard about your little bet with millsy and I found out what teams you both had i thought it was pretty funny cause you had all the good teams and she had the ones that were long shots. Hehe!
Glad you support Italy for this one i really hope they win

For me though, it doesnt bother me so much (actually it adds to the entertainment) ALL teams do it even England, it just annoying when certain teams (that shal remain nameless but i think you can guess who they are) do it all the time.

Date: 2006-07-06 06:53 pm (UTC)I don't see SMc doing much better, remember he was number two to the whole farce in Germany and so must have played an important role in how bad we were. England played defensively with players out of position like a typical SMc team and I don't think SMc has the motivational skills or tactical nouse to do well, just look at Boro's season last year.
And who can't I mention?! Ronaldo?! Ronaldo Ronaldo Ronaldo Ronaldo!! Big fat greasy Brazilian - highest scorer in World Cup History though :-P
